Some examples of White Label

White Label and Search Engines

Using the White Label solution is not considered as unique content by major search engines and our system does not allow indexing of White Label domains. Therefore, if you plan to promote the site in search engines, build a travel website with original content on the main domain and set up White Label on the subdomain.

How to set up a White Label

It takes little development work to set up a White Label (you should have a basic knowledge of html and css). To set up the White Label, follow these steps:

Step 1. Choose a Domain

We recommend to use 'user-friendly' domain names (e.g. booking.yourdomain.com, travel.yourdomain.com). You can also use our free subdomain under superstore.travel domain (e.g. yoursite.superstore.travel).

Step 2. Create CNAME Record for a Domain

Please, skip this step, if you are using free superstore.travel subdomain.

Third-Level Domain (e.g. booking.yourdomain.com)

If you are using your own third-level domain, simply create a CNAME DNS record, pointing your third-level domain to the URL www.superstore.travel. For example:

booking.yourdomain.com IN CNAME www.superstore.travel.

Note that it may take 24-48 hours until DNS changes take place.

Each hosting service has slightly different ways to create CNAME records. When in doubt, check with the particular company you are using for additional help or instructions. Below is an instruction for Godaddy.com:

  1. Go to the Zone File Editor for the domain name you want to update.
  2. Click Add New Record. The Add DNS Record window displays.
  3. From the Record type list, select CNAME (Alias).
  4. Complete the following fields:
    • Enter an Alias Name — Enter the third-level domain name for the alias assignment. For example, type booking.
    • Points to Host Name — Enter www.superstore.travel.
    • TTL — Select how long the server should cache the information.
  5. Click OK.
  6. Click Save Zone File, and then click OK. The new CNAME record displays in the CNAME (Alias) section.
Second-Level Domain (e.g. yourdomain.com)
    • Set 301 Redirect yourdomain.com => www.yourdomain.com
    • Create a CNAME DNS record:
      www.yourdomain.com IN CNAME www.superstore.travel.

Note that it may take 24-48 hours until DNS changes take place.

Step 3. Create a White Label

  1. Log in to your Wego Affiliate Network Account: http://wan.travel
  2. Navigate to the "White Label" menu. Click on the button "Create a new Travel Site"
  3. Set the White Label Settings:
    • Site name
    • Applications (Flights, Hotels)
    • Default language
    • Choose supported languages
    • Default currency
    • Choose supported currencies
    • Choose custom URL for your site (e.g.booking.yoursite.com) OR choose subdomain under superstore.travel (e.g. yoursite)
    • Click the Submit button. Your White Label is created now.

Example:

Step 4. Change Color Scheme (optional)

After you have created a White Label, you can change color settings in Edit Theme section:

Colorscheme.png

Step 5. Advanced Customization (optional)

If you need to change HTML or CSS, please navigate to the Advanced section. Here you can set your logo, header and footer as well. If you are building a multilingual site, set these sections for each language. Note, you should have basic knowledge of html and css (please, refer to online tutorials if needed (e.g. http://www.w3schools.com/). Check out our Code Samples.

After you performed Steps 1-5 click Publish button to apply your changes

Code Samples

Note that we don't provide image hosting, that's why you have to use external services to host your logo, for example, http://photobucket.com.

To add logo navigate to White Label Advanced Settings. Add the HTML code to the "Top Bar" section (don't forget to replace website url and image url with your own urls):

<div id="wg-header">
<div id="wg-logo">
<a href="http://www.johortravel.com">
<img src="http://johortravel.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/jb_logo.png"/></a>
</div>
<p class="wg-header-slogan">Compare Cheap Flights and Hotels</p>
</div>

Add the CSS code to the "Custom CSS" section:

#wg-header{
width:990px;
height: 100px;
margin: 0 auto;
}

#wg-logo img {
width: 250px;
padding: 25px 25px 25px 0;
float: left;
}

p.wg-header-slogan {
float: left;
font-size: 16px;
font-style: italic;
color: white;
padding: 35px 20px;
}

To customise footer navigate to White Label Advanced Settings. Below is a sample code which allows you to add "Travel providers" section, Copyright and some custom text to the footer.

Add the HTML code to the "Bottom Bar" section:

<div id="wg-footer">
  <div id="wg-footer-text">
    <h3>Some of the sites we search for the best flight and hotel deals:</h3>
    <img src="http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e56/Natalya_Kosenko/slogan_zpsf1b5d1db.png"/>
    <p>Blah blah blah blah - Your text here.</p>
  </div>
  <div id="wg-footer-copyright">
Yoursite.com © 2014. Powered by <a href=“http://www.wego.com”>Wego.com</a>
  </div>
</div>

Add the CSS code to the "Custom CSS" section:

#wg-footer {
width:990px;
margin: 0 auto;
}

#wg-footer-text h3 {
font-size: 26px !important;
font-weight: bold !important;
color: #ff5e14;
}

#wg-footer-text p {
font-size: 16px;
text-align: left;
padding: 30px 0;

.wg-hide {
display: none;
}
}

How to add a favicon

To add favicon navigate to White Label Advanced Settings. Add the code to the "Head Section" (don't forget to replace favicon url with your own url):

<link rel="shortcut icon" href="http://www.wego.com/favicon.ico"/>

How to set meta tags

To set Meta Title navigate to the White Label Settings section (Site Name). To set other mate tags navigate to Advanced Settings section. Add the code to the "Head Section":

Meta Description:

<meta name="description" content="Flights and Hotels Metasearch">

Meta Keywords:

<meta name="keywords" content="hotel search, flight search">

Facebook Description:

<meta property="og:description" content="Flights and Hotels Metasearch" />

Note, to apply your changes you have to clear Facebook cache. Simply type your website url here: https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/.

How to add java-script

To add a custom java-script code navigate to White Label Advanced Settings. 'Declare' js-library which you're going to use in Head section, for example:

<script src="http://code.jquery.com/jquery-latest.min.js"></script>

Add your JS code to the "Bottom Bar" section.

See below a sample of code which hides a block of text in the footer when user clicks a Search button (add this code to "Bottom Bar" section along with the code from the previous example):

<script>
$("form").submit(function(event) {
if ($("input.flight-to").val() !== '') {
$("#wg-footer-text").removeClass("wg-show").addClass("wg-hide");
}
event.preventDefault();
});
</script>
